We are lovers

Nothing gets you quite as excited for incoming warmer weather as a new bikini. It is the most visual representation of summer and all it encompasses - coconuts and sunlight and salty water and denim shorts. Those first few warm days as Spring begins are especially lovely, where appreciation for the suns rays are at their highest and everyone clamours to get outside and enjoy nature at its finest.

So I basically cannot wait to wear my new Rusty Cruise Halter (you can purchase it online here). It is a refreshingly cute update of the classic black bikini and I'm loving the higher neck line and ridges, which gives the two piece a super flattering shape. It will be perfect to team with denim shorts for lazy days on the beach, or just chilling in my backyard at the first glimpse of those pre-summer rays.

August Update

Happy Monday! Coffee in hand, I am currently tackling my inbox, finishing an assignment and (trying) to get organised for a busy week ahead. So of course, I end up writing a blog post instead. Regardless this has been long overdue - I returned home from Hawaii to that typical post-holiday catch up, where the blog gets pushed down the list a little. Somewhere after Instagram, but before cleaning my room.

I have some exciting collaborations coming as well as an update of my travel pages for both Maui and Oahu (I have so many photos to share!), but in the meantime, here are a few images and links I have been loving/reading this week.

I found this account on Instagram, and fell in love with this image of her room! @apebalsom

Winter Chill

I seriously struggle when going out at night in winter - and that struggle has increased twofold here in Sydney thanks to our apparent Antarctic Chill! Recently my go-to choice has become leather pants. With my legs warm I can keep my arms bare, and throw a coat or jacket on top, perfect for tying around my waist when the aircon has been turned up.

In other news if your looking for a hot chocolate cocktail complete with roasted marshmallows, make sure you visit The Chalet Pop Up Bar in Darlinghurst before the winter season ends!

I'm wearing Sarah Slacks and Twice Dipped top, both by Lockdown Liberated. Shoes by Dion Lee.

Weekend Getaway

Here's a little something I did for the Bonds Blog. You can check out more here.

It’s officially that time of year – summer holidays are a distant memory, and the months ahead forecast plenty more chilly days. The answer? A mini weekend getaway. Whether it’s overnight or simply a day out of the city, switching up the scenery is essential for a renewed sense of self and some much needed relaxation.

When packing your weekender, basics are a must have, which calls for plenty of Bonds basics! In my bag there is always a classic stripy long sleeve tee (my absolute fave), some bright undies, fun and comfy bralettes and of course thick rib tights – it is winter after all! Pop in a fresh magazine and you are officially ready for your mini getaway.

White Out

A collection of images inspiring me this month. It wasn't until halfway through collating these visuals from my Tumblr and Pinterest that I realised white was the dominant theme. Perhaps its those crisp mornings evoking scenes of snow that bring out such shades as we creep towards winters halfway mark. Regardless, it's chunky knits, fresh sheets and that gorgeous winter sun powering me through to my upcoming mid- winter escape to Hawaii.

All images sourced from my my Tumblr (here) and Pinterest (here).

Free Spirit

Last weekend I popped into Sibella Court's showroom, a space I have been meaning to visit for ages. It was bursting with creativity so I just had to take a few snaps of some of the details. Artfully thrown together, every item emits gypsy traveller/free spirited vibes and left me feeling inspired for upcoming projects and adventures.

If you get the chance, make sure you pop by to soak it all in - then head straight around the corner for a large skinny flat white from Sample Coffee Roasters!

Fresh

Having fresh and clear skin has been a priority for me ever since my teenage years. As much as I love adorning my face with makeup (current fav: Urban Decay Naked Palette. Officially obsessed!), feeling confident enough to step outside the house sans makeup is most definitely a luxury.

Despite my skin goals, up until last week I had never had a facial. As someone with oily/combination skin, I never thought it would be appropriate for my skin type.  Now however, I wish I had tried one sooner!

My first ever facial was at the Jurlique Store at Macquarie Centre and was such a relaxing, eye opening experience. Welcoming me in to their treatment room with warm tea and relaxing music, I was talked through the process that was directly tailored to my needs. The next hour of the Signature Facial was divine.  My skin felt fresh and clean and my muscles relaxed, thanks to the amazing head, neck and arm massage. Not only did I leave feeling utterly chilled, I was all the more knowledgeable of my skin's needs after having it examined under a special light. As well as feeling soft and clean, my skin also looked immediately brighter and smoother - a most welcome change!

Thank you to Invisible Thread PR and the Jurlique girls for the lovely experience!

My new skin routine is as follows (I'll update you on the progress in the coming months!):
