↠ Study Time ↠

How fast has summer flown by this year? It feels like a couple of weeks, not months, since December 1st rolled around and I was basking in the sun rays, looking forward to months of salty bliss. Fast forward to today and summer is almost over with plenty of desk time looming. It's not all end-of-summer angst though - there is something reoccuringly rejuvenating about a fresh start. All crisp white pages and shiny new pens, I have forever been one to bask in the start of a new term or semester. So I immediately said yes to a challenge set by Officeworks to show off my back-to-uni favourites for the new semester - I'll be sharing some of my best get-organised tips (learnt from plenty of uni experience!) over the next week. Here is my first lot of favourites that I am excited to start using; for me, upping productivity always starts with fresh and fun stationery.

Share your own back-to-uni stationery prep with the #GetSetGoFurther hashtag on instagram.

My latest Bonds Post is up on there blog now- check out the full post here!

Pop’s of neon, some grey marle and the comfiest of shorts – this is definitely my current exercise outfit of choice.
As my overflowing wardrobe would attest, I currently own way too many gym clothes, but there is a valid reason (in my opinion anyway!). Having a great selection of work out gear is potentially the best motivator for maintaining an active lifestyle.
Of course, there are days where leaving the comfy confines of my bed to break a sweat is the very last thing I feel like doing. However my top tip for garnering the motivation to throw back the covers (alongside coffee of course) is to have a brand new outfit to throw on before getting into that morning jog.
This crop has a tie-dye print, mesh and is pink, so it’s clearly a winner. Alongside a fitted grey tank, to ensure no loose fabric gets in the way of your workout, and the perfect fit black Bonds shorts, this is my go-to outfit for all my usual exercises – running, dancing, backyard workouts, and sometimes, just a walk to get that much needed coffee.

↠ Off the Shoulder ↠

Off the shoulder tops are having a bit of a moment. I love their summer/romantic/ beach-y feel, as well as their ability to be dressed up for a night out. I purchased this little number off Sabo Skirt after seeing it in their gorgeous Orange County inspired look book (check it out here). Instead of wearing it over a bikini on Californian sand (I wish), I teamed it with these Minty & Munt leather drawstring shorts, which are a new favourite of mine. It was the perfect outfit choice for Saturday evening drinks at The Greens North Sydney, which is a cute little place you'll love if cocktails served in watermelon are your thing (and it's most definitely mine!).

Lounging

Chill vibes don't necessarily require catching the first flight out to a tropical island (though that certainly helps). Rather, the right clothes that meet the perfect balance of comfort, whilst hard to come by, make a Sunday morning or Friday night in all the more rejuvenating. My soft, new denim Bonds shirt meets these requirements, whilst also being able to pull a double act by being able to be thrown over a black denim skirt and white tee when you decide you really do need some Japanese food before settling in for an afternoon perusing through some magazines. Priorities sorted.

How good is this editorial? Mimi Elashiry for Free People shot by Miann Scanlan. I'm adoring the summer vibes of this shoot, capturing an early morning at Bondi. Major style cues here for the last few weeks of summer, which I aim to make the most of with beach chills, denim shorts and as much carefree energy as possible.

My fading summer playlist to accompany long days in the sun:

Doing It - Charlie XCX
Wonderland - Taylor Swift
Wild Eyes - Broller/RAVVLE
Pray to God - Calvin Harris ft Haim
Summer - Calvin Harris
Two Bodies - Flight Facilities
White Teeth Teens - Lorde
Take Me Over - Peking Duck
Tessellate - alt- J
My World - Iggy Azelea

Route 77

A bit of rock and roll inspiration never goes astray, especially when it comes from the King.

This Chip Chop dress is a direct reference to the idol of my grandparents youth and is definitely infused with some of that rock attitude. Shaped as an oversized tank dress, I tied it on the side and decided to team it with my favourite worn-out Jeffrey Campbell boots and my floppy hat, to channel some easy going summer vibes. It's the kinda dress that is equally perfect for a day at the beach and a chill sesh with friends.

On another note, this shoot also inspired me to bring back out my guitar. It's been a few months, but when your fingers touch the strings, you instantly remember why you love playing. I originally taught myself before eventually getting lessons, and I used to play often, but it's one thing I've let fall by the wayside of late. Practising requires time (ugh how I wish there were more hours in a day) and a certain level of concentration, but it doubles as a really great way to relax and chill. Plus, finally getting a tough sequence of chords is incredibly rewarding - I definitely need to get back into regular practise!
